Windows + Gadget = Widget! This application is curious. My impressions is they are small apps you can use in your start page or blog to add interest. Basically, they provide the reader with more information. I think they can be pertinent to the pages but I also think too many would be a distraction! The ones I chose were very easy to add; however I did have to delete and start over with my weather one. I missed the fact that I was posting the weather in North Carolina. It was quite a tease one day when I pulled it up and thought we were having unseasonable weather. :) Alas, I got it to show good ol' Detroit spring weather.
I like widgets that are interactive, that's why I chose the poll one. Speaking of which, have YOU taken my poll yet? The weather is something everyone always likes to stay up-to-date wtih, especially in our unpredictable locale, so I chose to incoporate it as well. I'm not a history buff in any way shape or form; however, I do enjoy short tid-bits so I chose the What Happened In History Today. Finally, I always am looking for interesting pd articles and since I know it is only educators visiting my site I included Education Weekly. I like that you can scan the topics and only read the ones that grab your interest.

For some reason your weather widget is not working at present (perhaps the drastic change in weather since last week..ha ha). I just read another blog that used a different "This Day in History." The other one talked about "Who Shot JR"...I remember that!
