Thing 21: Tweeting

Well, I now have a better understanding of the purpose behind Twitter.  I can see how it is an opportunity to quickly send thoughts for people to view at their leisure.  I didn't sign up for sending messages to my phone because I'm not sure I want to be interrupted that much.  For now, I will check via the computer.  I'm curious to read what others' reactions are to this method of communication.

Okay, I'll be honest.  I'm not posting this after a week because that will be after the deadline - oops!  But I do promise to continue to check it out.

I do not foresee me using this tool personally. I'm not that public of a person, the blogging is public enough.  Plus, me life is not that interesting!  :)  But I can see me sharing or responding to the professional information available.  I signed up for NAIS, ASCD, and Whole Child.  I' am also going to be more congnizant when visiting the websites I frequent so maybe I can "follow" them as well.

One aspect I want to check in more is organizing the tweets I follow.  I would like to be able to search by person/organization rather than by date.  Hmmm, I'll try to figure it out and let you know.

  1. I like searching Twitter after a tech conference - those a people who like to Twitter. I am currently Twittering more than I have, but that is because Mathlete & Thing 2 are Twittering - it has been nice to keep in touch this week on my terms (middle of the night versus phone call).

  2. Also, you might consider downloading an app for Twitter for your phone. I like TweetDeck. It's easy to use....
