Thing 12: Randomness

I like this one! Lots of choices in an atmosphere of wise freedom ;)

As mentioned in my last blog, I'm highly organized, so of course I checked out Ta-Da List.  This is an easy-to-use application.  I could see this being extremely useful on committees where there is much to be done. You could create the list and who is to accomplish each task.  Then each individual could check the task off as it is completed!  Great way to utilize technology to stay organized. Love it!

Writeboard? Genious!  This is like having a shared folder without the use of the server.  Anyone could access this from home to edit.  I see this serving a huge purpose when writing a document that an entire group needs to agree on.  I love that it saves prior versions for you to refer to if needed.  I also like the comment section. And it even highlights the changes so you can quickly identify them without rereading the whole thing. I have two words - ISACS reports.  This would have been very handy.

Simply Box is simply brilliant.  How handy will this be when I am doing my next bit of research for a Powerpoint or parent coffee? In a way it remnds me of the snippet tool but instead of placing it in a word doc or PP, you move it into a box.  Also I think this would be advantageous for our students as they learn research skills.  First of all, many students struggle with organization.  This could help them get there thoughts in order before they begin writing.  Next, it would be a helpful tool when teaching them to source information since it saves the original location of all information. Finally the sharing could be helpful in collaborative situations, both as adults or students.

PS I added the first two sites to My Delicious account. (tee-hee)

  2. You have some excellent ideas on how to use these Web 2.0 tools in our real world. I too am placing many of these sites on My Delicious page.
