Truth be told, I'm not sure how this networking would facilitate growth in my professional life. I can see in the groups there could be interesting articles or discussions that may lead to new ideas. I wonder if we could start a "group" for our Sacred Heart schools with subgroups so educators in similar grade levels or fields could share ideas easily?! Just a thought.
I,personally, am not a fan of the layout of the site itself. I found it hard to navigate, but that could just be me.
I think educators are so busy getting through their day-to-day responsibilities they haven't taken the time to research the benefits of such a site. Or perhaps, it could simply be lack of exposure. I know I had heard about it from many of my friends in the "business" world but I didn't hear anything in those conversations that inspired me to check it out.
Although I'm not completely sold on this site yet, I do hope it proves me wrong and becomes an valuable resource for me.

ReplyDeleteOn top of all the other things you do, you are offering to start something similar with our network schools? This is an admirable idea, one that I think would be embraced by many of our colleagues.
