What exactly does RSS even mean I asked myself? So I decided to look it up and luckily I am not the only one to pose this question. According to one blog I found it stands for Really Simple Syndication. And after some further investigation I agree! It really is simple.
"Reader is like a magazine you design." (quoted from the Google Reader site) This is a perfect description of this tool! At first I had a hard time figuring out the process for being a "follower" on our blogs but once I got the hang of it, it was breeze! It is really convenient to be able to only open up one application to get all the juicy news, whether it be professional or personal . And yes, I am now a RSS subscriber to People Magazine. (Tee-hee). I can definitely see this tool being useful in the future. Now I just need to find more interesting sites!
Oh, and I wonder how the RSS feeds in our Groupwise plays into this, if at all. Have any of you ever noticed it on yours? Hmm...

Good point that I didn't define RSS! I thought for sure the people at the Common Craft Show did. I edited my post to at least include a "simple" definition.
ReplyDeleteAs for the RSS folder in Groupwise, it is interesting to see this. However, I don't want you to get too excited; the spell checker does not know the word "blog."
People Magazine, huh? I did not even think to subscribe to "just for fun" magazines, I just set-up my professional reading.
